Beginning in January
2005, the Ohio Department of Mental Health convened a workgroup of
youth and family members to define resiliency for Ohio's children
with mental health issues.
Definition
Resiliency
is an innate capacity that when facilitated and nurtured empowers
children, youth, and families to successfully meet life’s challenges
with a sense of
self-determination, mastery, and hope.
What is found in these
documents is the result of this workgroup's dedication to Ohio's
youth.
